With No Sounds Are Out Of Bounds, Alex Paterson aka The Orb returns to the dub. But before he starts, the album opens with The End Of The End, a pop song in a kind of ominous Ibiza lounge atmosphere that bounces on grumbling basses. Wish I Had A Pretty Dog contains the dark dub we have come to expect from The Orb, filled with snippets of interviews. Rush Hill Road is a bit more cheerful with vocals
… by Hollie Cook. The cheerful disco dub of Pillow Fight @ Shag Mountain is supported by a wonderfully languid bass line from Jah Wobble. Then the experiment strikes in the form of ambient dub and the use of soundscapes. NSAOOB closes with the long drawn-out Soul Planet, which, although a lot more experimental, is reminiscent of Paterson's work on AD. All in all, yet another strong album, the second half of which is especially intended for diehard Orb fans. (AD)more
