Lindsey Buckingham was almost casually sidelined when he didn't want to tour with
Fleetwood Mac right away, but wanted to make a new album first. And that while he has been an integral part of this famous group since the 70s. Not only as a guitarist and singer, but also as a songwriter and producer, he played a major role on the best-known albums
Rumours (1977) and
Tusk (1979). His voice and driven
… vocals are immediately recognizable on this title-less solo album. Buckingham made it all by himself in the studio. He did this skilfully, but you still wonder what it would have sounded like with the rhythm section of Fleetwood Mac or with a beautiful second voice of Stevie Nicks. The strong songs on this album start to sound a bit uniform. Thus, Buckingham needs his band as much as his band needs him. (MR)more
