The 'godfather of funk', George Clinton, caused a furore especially in the 1970s with bands like Funkadelic and Parliament. The eighties were a lot less successful for him. Since he wrote four songs with Prince for his film "Graffiti Bridge" and he collaborated with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, he has been back in the spotlight. His music 'functions' as before, although you can still hear some 'raps' here and there. Clinton's discovery, bassist William "Bootsy" Collins contributed to this CD. George Clinton will also be seen at the upcoming North Sea Jazz Festival.more
