One of the first Christmas albums of 1998 comes from someone you wouldn't immediately expect: Cindy Lauper. The singer of whom we have heard little more after her eighties hits Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Time After Time and True Colors, takes an advance on a white Christmas with mostly self-written songs. Merry Christmas ... Have A Nice Life is not a standard Christmas album, however. December
… Child, In The Bleak Midwinter and Silent Night are true Christmas songs, but Early Christmas Morning (zydeco), Three Ships (Irish folk) and the cheerful, with a cheap computer beat Rockin 'Around The Christmas Tree are more like parodies.
