Dutch drama at its best. After a bumpy career of more than 40 years, countless albums, compilation albums, singles (none of which ever reached number one), videos, DVDs, beer and motorcycle accidents, the Achterhoekse Normal played in December 2015 for the last time. This took place in a sold out Gelredome and was broadcast on television by the VPRO. Frontman Bennie Jolink in particular thought it
… was good, after all he has been struggling with his health for years. Nobody needs to get bored during this spectacle with fireworks, spectacular background projections and Jolink sailing above the stage on a motorbike. It's almost unbelievable what these four self-proclaimed simple farmers have achieved with their sympathetically rocking dialect music. The audience is moved but also feasts on Oerend Hard, Hendrik Haverkamp and Deurdonderen for the last time.
