How Dare You, 10CC's fourth album, is also the last to feature the original line up of Eric Stewart, Graham Gouldman, Lol Creme and Kevin Godley. Godley and Creme left the band shortly after recording this album to explore the commercial and artistic potential of the gizmo, an instrument they invented themselves. The gizmo's ghostly drone sound dominates the entire record, and it harmonizes beautifully
… with the layered vocal arrangements, the band's other trademark. The songs are more serious this time than on previous records, although I'm Mandy, Fly Me, I Wanna Rule The World and the sarcastic sing-along Art For Art's Sake are just as smart as previous hits like Rubber Bullets and I'm Not In Love . By combining the experimental drive of art rock with clever pop songs, 10CC made How dare You? an extremely satisfying album.more
