Alfredo Marcucci was born in 1930 in the beating heart of tango, Buenos Aires. Cafés, night clubs, dance halls, patios, living rooms, every corner of the city was permeated with the melancholy of the Argentinean people. In this environment, Marcucci couldn't help but fall for the music. From a very young age he sat with a bandeon on his lap. At the age of fifteen he became a professional musician,
… three years earlier than was allowed, but with the death of his father he was the man in the house and had to earn a living. He started in the orchestra of his uncle Carlos Marcucci. He then played in the world-renowned orchestra of Carlos di Sarli, left for Europe, met the folk group Los Paraguayos, residing in Belgium, and joined them. In the 1960s, Marcucci settled in Brussels, got married and had children. Wanting to spend the evenings with his family, he decided to give up his career as a musician. From 1976 to 1986 he worked in a plastics factory in Brussels. But the blood is creeping where it cannot go and Marcucci was already on stage even before his early retirement. Fortunately, because this CD with the Ensemble Piacevole proves that Marcucci is a gifted bandeon player. Together they play works by Piazolla and a few other tango composers.
