New Cool Collective (NCC) was founded in 1993 when the London-based DJ Graham B, who had moved to Amsterdam, had the bright idea to jam with musicians. Saxophonist Benjamin Herman, guitarist Anton Goudsmit and percussionists Frank van Dok and Jos de Haas were the first to attend. New Cool Collective emerged from these sessions. … Collective Big Band Live they celebrate their 10th anniversary and close this period festively. New Cool Collective Big Band Live was recorded in Rotown, the Melkweg and the Pul in Uden, venues that are not exactly known for their jazz programming. And that is at the same time the strength of NCC, they try to win souls for jazz by playing it in places that are not directly associated with jazz.
