On Escape, the son of Julio Iglesias shows more and more of his pop and rock side. The reference 'the Spanish Eros Ramazotti' seems to be increasingly applicable. Escape and Don't Turn Off The Light are catchy pop songs with what he thinks is a solid guitar part, which are more reminiscent of a pop act like Boyzone than of a Latin artist like Ricky Martin. Love To See You Cry has a catchy 'Modjo'
… beat, Hero and Maybe are beautiful ballads and Love 4 Fun and One Night Stand are pop songs with a solid house beat underneath. The album is well produced and has no real mistakes. Only with the cheap-sounding Eurohouse drone If The World Crashes Down does Iglesias get out of hand. For the rest, Escape is a very catchy and accessible CD by this sultry southerner. (BP)more
