The album A Crow Left Of The Murder is the successor to the well-received Morning View. As we are used to from Incubus, heavy songs are alternated with quiet subdued songs. Lyrically, however, singer Brendan Boyd takes a sharper tone, expressing strong criticism of the political situation in America, sometimes openly, sometimes disguised. The band seems to have found more balance in their sound,
… perhaps this has to do with newcomer Ben Kenney (ex Roots) on bass. The album has no real outliers, although Here In My Room shows a new and exciting Incubus sound. The pounding first track of the CD, Megalomaniac, has been released as a single. Real fans can enjoy a great Incubus album again. (JdD)more
