Daryll Ann, Holland's hope in frightened days, has delivered another beautiful album. The brothers Paulusma and Anne Soldaat have entered the studio again for Don't Stop as a complete band. The multi-instrumentalist JB Meyers (ex-Supersub), involved in recordings by De Dijk, Acda & De Munnik and Frank Boeijen, among others, acted as co-producer of the album. Don't Stop starts nicely with the
… song Freeway, a song written in the American style that most reminds of the atmosphere of a band like Calexico. The rest of the album is again packed with fun, timeless listening songs in the vein of The Beatles and The Kinks. There are also some country-like songs such as Wild Side Brother and You and Me Darlin, in which the guitar gets a lot of punch (something you don't immediately associate with Daryll Ann). In short: a beautiful listening record that will linger in your head for a long time. (JdD)more
