Bettie Serveert was created in 1991 from the remains of the Arnhem group . The debut album (1992) was an unexpected great success and from that moment on Bettie Serveert has always remained one of the leading alternative bands in our country. Moreover, it is one of the few Dutch bands with long-term foreign (United States) success. After the excellent (2000) drummer Reinier Veldman left the band
… and the other members of Bettie Serveert decided to take a 'sabbatical year'. Singer Carol Van Dyk formed the country duo together with Belgian Pascal Deweze ( , ). Guitarist Peter Visser played in 's band and built a studio in his own house. At the end of 2002, Van Dyk and Visser got together in this brand new studio to record Log 22. It has become a sparkling and fresh-sounding CD, which, despite all the modern studio possibilities, mainly sounds like a typical Bettie Serveert album. The strongest points are again the characteristic guitar playing of Peter Visser and the personal lyrics, which are so beautifully sung by Carol Van Dyk. Highlights on Log 22 include the sublime opening track Wide Eyed Fools, the first single Smack and the esque White Dogs. There are simply no lows: Log 22 is a homegrown masterpiece. (MvP)more
