And then there was only oneā¦ The title for their fifth album is well chosen, because after the departure of Mutya Buena at the end of 2005 only Keisha Buchanan is left of the original Sugababes line-up. Buena was immediately replaced by Amelle Berrabah, who makes Change the first album on which she can be heard (not counting the re-release of Taller In More Ways). At first hearing, the Sugababes
… seem to have lost some of their appeal with the departure of Buena. Buena, with her distinctive voice, played a large part in the sound of the group, which has now been lost. As a result, the Sugababes sometimes threaten to sound a bit more colorless, but fortunately Berrabah turns out to be a decent replacement. More importantly, the Sugababes still have a nose for good pop songs, so that you can find quite a few nice songs on Change. (IV)more
