In 1987 De Dijk was awarded the Silver Harp, an incentive prize for the most talented young group of the moment. The jury report called on the band to 'display its quality for a long time to come'. The men of De Dijk tied the message well in their hearing. Twenty-five years after their breakthrough album, Nobody In The City, they are still there. In fact, the band only seems to get better over the
… years. Album opener (and first single) Alles Komt Goed is a soul stamper for which the group also incorporated Thomas Acda as a guest singer. Huub van der Lubbe manages to hit the right note again in his lyrics. Not De Lef seems to be about the banking crisis without the lyricist using that word. The group rises to great heights in melancholic songs like even De Regen and Schaf De Zon. Another highlight: Skull And Bones, a powerful 'memento mori' clad in energetic soul blues. (PdK)more
