The now 24-year-old Robbie Williams was the rascal of Take That with his brutal, let-it-go behavior. This mentality can be heard on his first solo album Life Thru A Lens. It has turned out to be a record that does not seem to have been made with too many pretensions and is therefore pleasant to listen to. Williams co-wrote most of the songs with ex-World Party member Guy Chambers, who co-produced
… the CD with Steve Power. In addition to the hit-sensitive ballad Angels, we hear a number of pleasantly poppy songs such as Lazy Days and Clean and the somewhat heavier songs such as Ego A Go Go and Old Before I Die, in which Williams seems to feel most at home. (WvdZ)more
