The Irish Cranberries became big with the album No Need To Argue ('94), which contained the two hit singles Zombie and Ode To My Family. The folk influences of singer Dolores O'Riordan were combined with rock guitar violence and that was very popular in 1994. After No Need To Argue, To The Faithfull Departed and Bury The Hatchet followed, which performed significantly less than their predecessor.
It is therefore telling that the band released a DVD in 2005 with a concert from 1994. In the London Astoria, the band plays the songs from No Need To Argue for the first time, which still seem a bit strange. We don't have to expect an impressive show from the Cranberries, but it is intimate. In the skinny bonus area we find a jukebox function and a photo gallery. (JdD)more
