Keb'Mo 'returns with Bluesamericana to the field where he feels at home. After a foray into sultry summer soul on his previous album Reflection, Keb'Mo 'is once again surrounded by calm guitars, groovy basses and relaxed blues rhythms. Bluesamericana is not called that for nothing: a large part of the songs have a decent country sound due to the addition of banjos, harmonicas, a single pedalsteel
… and typical organs. But the basis is surely the blues as we are used to from Keb 'Mo'. Sometimes with an acoustic guitar, sometimes with an electric, but always at ease. Bluesamericana is a diverse album with unadulterated blues (Somebody Hurt You), cheerful New Orleans jazz (The Old Me Better) and a pop ballad (For Better Or Worse). Bluesamericana is, just like its maker, a real friend to everyone. (HF)more
