For their tenth album, the trio Low chose the production skills of Jeff Tweedy. An excellent choice, as his band Wilco has been sounding extremely fresh for almost two decades. The American also proved to be able to deal with old hands, such as Mavis Staples and Bill Fay. Let's get straight to the point: The Invisible Way is a typical Low album. Mr. and Mrs. Sparhawk – Parker alternately sing
… their viscous songs, which all evoke a quiet atmosphere. The female half of the couple in particular is given a lot of space. She sings five of the eleven songs, while on previous records she often only sang a few songs. Furthermore, it is Low as we have heard Low before, and perhaps better. The most striking thing about The Invisible Way is that the CD was produced by Jeff Tweedy. But you don't hear that from it. (JE)more
