'(At least for now) the last CDs of Normal' it says on the back of 40 Joar Høken. His fragile health forces frontman Bennie Jolink to take a step back. No more gigs, but Jolink wanted to go all out on CD. This is how the boogie rockers from Achterhoek celebrate their 40th birthday in style: with lots of music. Four CDs that are arranged according to different music styles. The first CD is full of
… acoustic country songs, the second with rock-n'-roll, the third is a cappella (with even a performance of the Wilhelmus, sung in Standard Dutch!). On the last CD, simply entitled 'the band', those three styles come together with a solid portion of roots rock. Whether there is a new album or not, with 40 Joar Høken, Normal has recorded a nice goodbye for their 'anhangers'. (PdK)more
