… Heather with the difference that there are few really good songs this time. Expressing the great feelings in life has never been his forte, but this time he often gets stuck in clumsy platitudes, certainly towards the end of the record. McCartney chooses to keep his annoying emotions to himself and to play nice again to the outside world. That is his right, but a good record has not yielded that. It doesn't get really bad anywhere, McCartney is too much of a professional for that. But on Driving Rain he does not show what he is really capable of. (MS)more
